Director & Lead Occupational Therapist
SAM
Sam qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2005 (York St John). She worked for the NHS for many years and has experience in both Adult and Paediatric Services working with a range of neurological, and developmental conditions. Sam moved into Independent Practice in 2015 and became director at The Local Therapy Company in 2023.
​​​Sam has Post Graduate Training in Sensory Integration and is an Advanced Sensory Integration Practitioner (Level 4). She also has additional training in:

Sam has wide experience assessing and writing reports for EHCP, and is a regular expert witness at SEN tribunals. She provides ongoing treatment in the client's home or educational setting.
​
Sam also values a holistic approach when supporting clients and is an autism and ADHD Special Yoga Practitioner and an Emotional Freedom Practitioner (EFT).

Occupational Therapist
KATHERINE
Katherine qualified as an Occupational Therapist from Derby in 2004. Her desire to become an OT being driven by her previous career as a support worker for people with learning disabilities and autism.
​
Katherine has a wide range of experience of working with children and adults with autism, learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and those experiencing poor mental health. Her Occupational Therapy experiences include 15 years working in specialist residential schools.
Katherine has post graduate training in sensory integration with Sensory Integration Education (Levels 1, 2, and 3).
She joined The Local Therapy Company independent practice in 2019 and provides assessment and treatment for children and young people with a wide range of conditions. She continues to work regularly in specialist school.
