The Local Therapy Company is an independent occupational therapy service for children, adolescents and young adults.

We can provide assessment and treatment for a wide range of physical, sensory and social difficulties including:

• Sensory Integration Disorder (also known as Sensory Processing Disorder)
• Dyspraxia and Developmental Coordination Disorder
• Autistic Spectrum Disorders including Asperger’s Syndrome
• Physical Difficulties and Learning Needs including poor motor skills and handwriting

We can offer input for your child at home or at school. Specialised reports for Statutory Assessment or Education Tribunals can be prepared once your child has been through our assessment process.

The Service is highly personalised and usually takes place in an environment familiar to the child. We work closely with parents and carers, school staff, other professionals such as physiotherapists, speech and language therapists and case managers. We aim to provide an effective and individualised service which makes a real difference to children’s and young people’s lives.

We also offer training for parents and schools on a range of paediatric subjects.
